Here a 3 inch alnico rod magnet is levitated by the cradle.
Below the magnet are two rows of tilted coils. On the core
face of each coil is the Hall device which provides the
feedback-generated repulsion profile between the magnet
and the coil. This particular version was only marginally
stable, and the bar magnet would remain levitated for several
seconds before oscillations built up and ejected it from the
device.
